The Class of 1968 recently celebrated their 50th reunion. To recognize the special year, the class decided to celebrate in two phases. The first phase was a wonderful weekend, held from August 17 to 18, beginning with a casual get together on Friday in the Furrer Beverage Community Room. Over one hundred people attended the event; guests spent the evening taking pictures, reminiscing and enjoying delicious food.

On Saturday, a dinner dance was held at Park Hills Country Club. This evening had the largest attendance of all our reunions: 135 guests. Everyone enjoyed an evening of more reminiscing, dancing, and taking fun pictures in the photo booth. Among the guests were five individuals who had never been to a reunion and some that had not attended a reunion in over 25 years. So many guests mentioned they wished they had come to other reunions because they had a chance to create the friendships they never had in high school.

The class of 1968 is a special class in so many ways. The reunions are even fun for spouses. In fact, some spouses say that they never go to their own reunions, but attend BG reunions because they are fun. The reunion committee heard comments like this all through the weekend.

An interesting piece of trivia: The class of 1968 celebrated their 50th Reunion and most members of the class were born in 1950. They graduated in 1968 and most of them were 68 years old in 2018!

The second phase of the reunion was a cruise to Bermuda in October. The class of 1968 had 15 classmates and their friends and family join us for a total of 31 guests in all. Norwegian Cruise Lines offered fantastic deal to the alums. The class of 1968 took advantage of all the perks, such as specialty dining, great food, wonderful shows and comedians. Everyone had a fabulous time. In fact, everyone had so much fun, that the class of 1968 wants to do it again. They are planning to have a 70th birthday celebration cruise in a March 2020, the year the class turns 70, possibly to St. Martin, St. Thomas or St. Croix. Details will be sent out after January, so start saving!
